FATHER PFLEGER RETURNS TO ST. SABINA: Controversial priest who mocked Hillary Clinton leads his parish once again

The Associated Press reports that Rev. Michael Pfleger, the Catholic priest who got in trouble for mocking Senator Hillary

Rodham Clinton, has returned to his Chicago parish after a nearly two-week suspension.Pfleger told a cheering congregation at St. Sabina Catholic Church Sunday that he returns to the pulpit “committed to the Gospel of justice.”

“I will not let my faults or imperfections cause me to run and hide, or allow them to cause me to play it safe or become silent,” he said.

Cardinal Francis George suspended Pfleger on June 3rd after the priest mocked Clinton while preaching from the pulpit of Senator Barack Obama’s former church, Trinity United Church of Christ. Obama has since resigned his membership to Trinity.

During Pfleger’s sermon on Sunday he spoke about his suspension as a test of faith. Ushers at St. Sabina handed out fliers with a silhouette of boxer Muhammad Ali and the words “Ain’t nothing like a comeback.”
